I'm not really a 'primer girl' (if you can categorize people like that) because it is usually a step that I forget. I usually just apply my moisturiser before foundation so I feel like it's weird to then put on a primer on top of that. However! I have 'met' a primer that I have been using non-stop ever since I bought it and that is saying something.
So this primer I have actually been using and loving is by KIKO and it is called the City Filter Primer. What I love about this is that it just feels like you are applying a light moisturizer to your face and so it doesn't feel like it is packed with silicons or anything like that. The primer is yellow and very light and creamy in consistency and I find it almost absorbs a bit into your skin and then sets after about a minute. It then creates a really nice barrier between your skin and your foundation as well as protecting your skin because it has SPF 50. So not only does it really smooth out your skin but it also protects it. I have found I haven't burnt at all on my face this summer because usually I just wear a foundation with SPF but this primer gets all the little bits that my foundation might miss. I just love the simplicity of using a high SPF primer which also actually feels almost moisturising because it just creates a nice base before foundation in one step.
You can get this from KIKO for €12.90//£12.90 and I highly recommend you do!

I'm not a primer girl either, so the SPF on this is definitely a huge bonus! Anna and Lily Pebbles have been raving about this, so now seeing your review on it I might just have to try it! Thanks for sharing. xx

I think I first heard Ruth Crilly talk about it :)
DeleteI've been trying to encourage myself to use primers more often & this one sounds lovely!

I highly recommend it!
DeleteI only own one nail polish from KIKO but I really want to make an order from them soon and this is top of my list. So affordable but I've heard great things! x
ReplyDeleteYou should also try their long lasting stick eyeshadows, they are amazing. But a lot of their powder products look a bit glittery and off to me....so choose wisely!
DeleteHaha, I wouldn't really consider myself a 'primer girl' either! Although I do like the sound of this primer, I'm always up for any product with SPF... and 50+ that's pretty impressive! - it's actually a bit difficult here in Australia to even find a sunscreen with 50+ (30+ is basically the limit, how annoying)
ReplyDeletewww.beautibop.com
That's crazy! You'd expect SPF 70 in Australia!
DeleteThis sounds like such a good idea! I always forget to use sunscreen - awful I know, so this would be such a good way to make me use one xx

I'm the same...I need to start being more vigilant when it comes to SPF!
DeleteThis looks like something I need.. I have light skin and lots of acne marks and now that summer is coming where I live I'm soo scared of getting even more marks ! Will give it a try x

When I had acne and post acne I was scared too! I tried to stay out of the sun altogether for a year or two. Luckily I don't have any marks
Deletei just started hearing about kiko, so this is news to me that they have a primer! i'm in the hunt for one because i've never included it in my routine but i feel like it'd make a nice difference in my t-zone. i'll have to see if i can test this sometime!

They also have a mattifying primer and other ones too
DeleteI wish I could get thissssssss.
ReplyDeletep.s. what camera are you using? I like!
Get it if you go to London! Just my two and a half year old shitty Pentax X90 - I'm just trying to use better light and editing the photos a bit more. It's not a very good camera...
DeleteIn fact I want a new camera but I can't afford to do so yetttttt
DeleteThis sounds amazing, im in need of a primer...

I tried some kiko cosmetics for the first time a few weeks ago and I really like them! You can read about it on my blog if you fancy checking it out:) This looks really good, I never use a primer either usually after not liking the Revlon one! Rachel xxx

I used to use the Revlon one sometimes too but I just always forgot

ReplyDeleteI'm not really a massive primer fan because I don't know if they are worth it :) but I like that this has a high SPF and has a smoothing effect :)
