Pixi Lid Last Shadow Pen Duo

Awful name right? But name aside I think this was a really good buy.
It comes in a pack with two different eye pencils: Shell Sheen (champagne glow highlighter) and Brun Beam (cool brown liner & definer).
I have never bought or tried anything from this brand before, mainly because the branding and the 'cutesiness' of it just really does not appeal to me.
However, I feel like I got it in the ASOS sale or something for about £8 and I thought the colours looked really nice.
The reason why I really like this duo is because it requires no effort from my part. I literally just put the highlighter colour all over my lid, under my brows and on the inner corners of my eyes. I then just line my top and bottom lashes with the darker shade, I smudge it a bit, and then reapply again. I also wear the highlighter colour on my waterline and it works pretty well for that use also.
This lasts on me all day and I think the quality is pretty good so overall I am really happy to have these in my life (pathetic).
The pencils are in a plastic packaging which kind of confuses me though...how will I sharpen them?!

You can get if from HQHair.com

Life Update

Well hey there.

I haven't had much time at the moment to do any proper blog posts and I feel like I should explain why! As well as going to uni, I have started interning at a Fashion PR company in London so I just spent two weeks there and I will be going down for the next two weekends as well as for the whole of fashion week. After that, things will mostly be back to normal, but I might still go down to London a few times to help out if I can...and when I graduate, who knows! Either I will continue interning and get a part-time job somewhere or I will (in my dreams) get a paid job?! I have a few interviews lined up but I'm not getting my hopes up TOO much bearing in mind jobs are pretty hard to get at the moment. To be honest I am just happy I have even had any interviews.

In other news...I decided to step down from being Beauty Editor at my student newspaper, The Courier. This means I will have more time to get some blogging done and do some proper reviews etc.
I stepped down because I kind of figured I couldn't intern/blog and be so involved with The Courier and doing all at once would mean the quality would definitely suffer. It also took up quite a lot of time and I really need to concentrate on getting my dissertation done!

I think that is all I have to say for now... :)

(I hate blog posts with no images so forgive the random flower)

Burt's Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion

I have read about this body lotion a few times before and I think it was the milk & honey aspect that really grabbed my attention. Apparently the formula has changed from the original, but considering I have never tried the original formula I can't really comment on that, all I know is that I really like the consistency of this. It is quite a thick lotion, probably because it targets normal to dry skin and so this is really effective if your skin lacks moisture. It claims to give 24 hour moisturisation but I like to moisturise twice a day so I put it on before I get dressed and before I get into bed.

List of ingredients

I really enjoy the smell of this product, it literally smells how I would imagine milk and honey combined to smell but it is not overbearingly sweet. I also find that body moisturisers can be a bit sticky but I haven't found this one to be sticky at all and it sinks in pretty quickly (do bear in mind I have very dry skin!).

The ingredients are 99% natural as well which is a bonus and I really like packaging as well as Burt's Bees branding, I think it's a really nice company. I bought this from Feel Unique at a sale price.

Price: £9.99 £7.49 at Feel Unique

La Roche-Posay Dream Team

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I 'suffer' from dehydrated and dry skin, especially around my eyes. I have never found an eye cream that I have really liked and thought actually did something more than my normal face moisturiser. Over Christmas I got the La Roche-Posay Hydreane Riche (Moisturizing Cream For Sensitive Skin) and the Substiane Eyes (Fundamental Replenishing Anti-Ageing Care) and I am so impressed by both of these.

The moisturiser is a thick cream which feels incredibly hydrating and effective from the moment you apply it, it is also incredibly soothing. Because it is of a thick consistency, you can use it as a day or night cream because it sinks in nicely but it is rich enough to be used at night. It is also a great make-up base, as I find it really smooths out the surface of the skin.

The eye cream has been a life saver for me (total exaggeration, of course). This is more of a gel formula, which is what I tend to like in eye creams that I have tried before, but it also quite thick which means it really hydrates and soothes the skin under your eyes. The eye cream is quite pricey, but it is worth picking up if you ever see it at a discounted price or you don't mind spending a little bit extra on this.

Just to show they are paraben-free!
The top one is the eye cream and the bottom is the moisturiser
As you can imagine, I highly recommend these products if you have dehydrated or dry skin, because I have really been enjoying using both of these :)

Both are paraben-free.

Hydreane Riche: £11 from Boots
Substiane Eyes: £33.45 from Cosmetic Now (online)

Different Ways To Follow Me and Raspberphobia

If you are a bit of a social media junkie like me and you like different ways to communicate with people and you like getting new ideas from loads of different sources, this post might be of interest to you. I am just basically putting into one post the different ways you can follow me. I saw Jessica French (whose blog I love by the way) did something like this on her blog and I just thought it was a really good idea.
Feel free to leave any of your links in the comments, I don't do the whole 'follow for follow' thing but I do check out people's links and if I really like the person's blog/instagram/whatever I do sometimes follow :)

1) Twitter
I am a massive tweet-head. I constantly tweet loads of rubbish and hopefully some vaguely interesting things too (probably not though) and I just think twitter is a great way of communicating with various different people as well as companies. It's a good place for having discussions and asking people questions in a really informal way. (My Twitter)

2) Instagram
Instagram is one of those things that a lot of people hate but I really enjoy it. I love to see where people are in the world, any pretty sights and if you don't take it too seriously it is just a bit of fun. My username is _banannie_

3) Google Connect
This is the standard way of following blogs, if you go onto most blogger blogs there is a button you can press to follow it, it is by the section that shows all your 'followers'.

4) Bloglovin'
I am not massively active on Bloglovin' simply because I just haven't quite gotten into it yet, but I am trying to! (Bloglovin')

5) Hellocotton
This is just another way to follow blogs and find new ones to follow, I actually follow quite a few food blogs on hellocotton and I always find really interesting blogs that I would have never come across otherwise. (Hellocotton)

6) Pinterest
I absolutely love pinning. Pinterest is like a virtual pinboard and you can just 'pin' things you come across or 'repin' other people's pins onto different virtual pinboards and it is just a great way to create wishlists, a bucket list, things you want to do, places you want to see, cakes you want to bake...it is just really fun and another great way to discover new things. (My Pinterest)

7) SheSaidBeauty
This is a bit of a new one to me, but it's basically a social platform for beauty bloggers to share what products they love/dislike, and you can also follow people on it. (SheSaidBeauty)

8) The Courier
This one is kind of random, but basically I am currently the Beauty Editor of my uni's newspaper so if you want to check out anything I have written for The Courier because I also write for it, you can just check out that out you can just click here for all beauty related things, and I also write for the fashion section so press here for that! (We also have an instagram account, our username is courierfashionandbeauty)

MAC Omega - A Great Multi-use Product For The Pale Girl

First of all I want to apologise for the poor photos but I don't have my camera with me so I had to take them on my iPhone (don't kill me), which is why the quality is not so great.
The reason why I am making this post is because I recently went home to France for the holidays and realised I had left NYX Blush in Taupe (my usual contour colour) in my uni house so I needed (/wanted) to use something else. Bronzers are usually too orangey on me, so I only use bronzers to bronze my face rather than contour.
I had recently bought a small MAC palette and one of the colours in it was Omega, which I use for my eyebrows (as seen in the photo below) and because Omega has no orangey/red tones in it, I figured it might work as a contour colour...

Left: MAC Omega used to contour nose, cheekbones and as an eyebrow colour | Right: MAC Omega Swatched

I now regularly use it to contour my cheekbones and my nose when I don't have NYX Taupe on me, I think it is actually a great substitute. Obviously this would not work so well on darker skin tones because it wouldn't show up so much, but if you are pale like me, Omega, despite being an eyeshadow, is a great contour colour and great for eyebrows if you have fair hair like I do.
