MAC Costa Chic

Whenever I am at a Mac counter I get pretty overwhelmed by all the different lipsticks so I have started asking my boyfriend to pick one out for me (not because I am a man-pleaser but because I am lazy).
Obviously if he pointed out a revolting sparkly baby pink I would say HELL NAW.
He actually bought this one for me so IF you are reading, THANK YOU!

This is Mac Costa Chic.
It is a pale coral colour and it is a Frost but I actually don't understand...this seems no different to me from the Cremesheen formula. It doesn't seem to have any sort of frosty effect. Maybe it is so subtle that it is barely visible, I don't know.

Like 99% of all beauty bloggers I am obsessed with peachy/coral/apricot tones, so it is no surprise that this is my kind of lipstick. It is so easy to wear because although it is quite a bright coral, the fact that it is fairly pale makes it not too OTT.

I just think this is really pretty and although I only got it recently I can tell this is going to become a favourite of mine. I don't own anything else like it so I am really happy to now have this :)

What are your favourite Mac lipsticks?
LET ME KNOW!

Some Things I Love From The Body Shop

OH HEY!
I just thought I would mention a couple of my favourite products from The Body Shop right now because there are some really lovely products that stand out to me.

The first product is the Peach Body Butter which if I am correct only just came out quite recently.
In general I am not a HUGE body butter fan just because I have worked at TBS in the past and kind of got bored of all the smells.
However, I still really like the Cocoa one and this Peach one because I absolutely LOVE the smell of peaches and this is very peachy.
I don't really need to tell you all about the benefits of body butters because I am sure 99% of the people reading this will have heard of or tried them before.

This is my absolute favourite face mask EVER. The Honey & Oat 3-In-1 Scrub Mask works wonders for my particular type of skin (fairly sensitive, very dry). I just put it on for 10-15 mins, let it work it's magic and then take it off with warm water. I do this in circular motions though so I get the scrubby effect.
I find this really hydrating and just a 10/10 product :)

So...yeah. Check me out with the face mask on.

What I Got With My Boots Points

I had a load of Boots points so I thought I would get a few bits and bobs that I had my eye on.
These aren't things I particularly needed but just some products I wanted but couldn't justify spending actual money on.

First off I got the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush which I am incredibly pleased with. I already have the Real Techniques Buffing Brush but after Estée recommended this one in one of her videos I felt like I was missing out! I use this for foundation when I want more of a full coverage and for any other cream products. I am so impressed by this brush because it gives the most even coverage and it is super soft.

Points: 899

I also got this cream blush by Dainty Doll, which is something new to me because I have never used any Dainty Doll products before. I got the blush called Orange County Girl, which is great because first of all I was attracted to the colour and the name was just the cherry on the top because as some of you may know, I did live in Orange County for a little while. This looks kind of like NARS Orgasm but in a cream and it is really pretty.

Points: 1350

I am weirdly starting to really like false lashes?! So much so that I have been wearing these ones during the day...eek. They actually look super natural and it just looks like a have a few more lashes than usual, because I have got quite a few gaps which is a bit poopy.

Points: 545

The last thing is a Stila eyeshadow and it is a bit of an obvious choice: Kitten.
I actually don't own very many eyeshadows and this one is really pigmented, shimmery and beautiful.
It is super easy to wear and just looks very simple and flattering.

Points: 1200

Recent Purchases

Right.
I have not had internet for a while now, but I am currently at my boyfriend's flat so I thought I'd do a little post on some things I have bought recently. There IS more but those items are going to go into another post.

First of all, I had a £1 off voucher for eyelashes at Boots and I do sometimes wear them on nights out so I got these Eyelure Super Full ones. These are probably my favourite lashes because they don't look too over-the-top.

I am a big fan of the Touch Of Silver range and it was on 3 for 2 in Boots so I got a few bits and bobs. I have never tried the dry shampoo before but so far I am impressed.

I also got the conditioner because I have used it before and I quite enjoyed it.

This is actually a god send. I often get yellowy tones in my blonde hair and this purple toner really does the job at keeping those yellow/brassy tones at bay.

I have wanted this for so long! It is the best smelling scrub (or even product) I have ever smelled in my life. It smells like FREAKIN MAPLE SYRUP. It is also a really effective body scrub.

I needed a new toner and there was money off this Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner so I thought I would give it a whirl. I tend to like brightening/radiance boosting products so this could be really nice but I have only used it a couple times so I can't really comment yet.

I also got a Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle just because I wanted a new highlighter and I think this one is pretty stunning.

There was 10% off beauty products at my local Fenwick's so I thought I'd get a Mac lipstick because I only have one other one. I asked my boyfriend which one he thought was nice and luckily I happened to like it too. This one is called Lickable, I have only worn it once but I absolutely love it.

That is all for now and sorry about my absence, I should have the internet back soon.
Fingers crossed!

Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara Review

After a disgusting experience with my MaxFactor 2000 Calorie mascara suddenly smelling like the worst smell I have ever smelled in my life, I decided to start using my new Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara. I found out about this on Meg's blog a while back and thought it looked great on her.
I can tell this is going to become a firm favourite of mine, in my eyes (geddit) it seems to be just as good as my favourite ever YSL False Lash Effect Mascara.

I think I have fairly long(ish) eyelashes anyway but they seem to be pretty sparse. I find the issue with mascaras for me is that volumizing ones tend to just clump my eyelashes together and I end up looking like I only have 5 really fat eyelashes.

What I really like about this particular mascara is that it elongates and thickens your lashes without clumping them together. I don't really know what else to say about the way it looks, it basically makes my lashes look as good as they can. I don't like REALLY thick, clumpy lashes in the daytime but that might just be me.
Somehow the application of this is incredibly smooth and it seems to dispense just the right amount of mascara. I know these are all tiny, stupid details but hey...they matter if you're going to invest in a really good mascara.

Do NOT get me started on the packaging...I sometimes like to just stare at it, hold it...I'm kidding (CAN I HEAR A MINI LOL?!) but it is beautiful.

This lasts on me all day, but I don't ever have an issue with make-up running down my face unless I'm in a blizzard so who knows!

It don't look like nuttin' special but it is!

Zombie Hands - feat. O.P.I Skull & Glossbones

As opposed to Essie's Beach Bum Blu which I did my last nails post on, this colour is totally up my street/down my road/on my avenue/chilling on my lane/you KNOW what I am saying.

This is Skull & Glossbones by O.P.I.

I love a good old 'dead hands' look aka grey/taupe nail colours that do the opposite of adding a bit of life to your hands/outfit. This kind of colour goes with pretty much anything and because it is not bright & vibrant, if it gets chipped... no one is really going to notice. (Do they anyway? Who knows)

This is the only O.P.I nail polish I have ever owned and I kind of bought it two months ago, forgot about it, put it on my fire place and just continued living my life as one does.
I am not sure how that happened because I love this kind of nail colour.
I actually got this on sale in Sephora so it was super cheap too!

I would describe this as...a taupe-y grey colour. A kind of mushroom colour.
Is it greige?! Can I say that?
I find that because this is on the same kind of tone/darkness as my skin tone, it elongates my fingers a bit which is always nice as I do have horrible stubby fingers.

This is so wearable and I absolutely love it.
(Can you tell?!)

I will definitely be looking at getting some more O.P.I polishes because the formula seems pretty comparable to Essie, which is my favourite nail polish brand at the moment.

NOTD - Essie Beach Bum Blu

Why hey there.

I got this Essie polish about a week or two ago now and I have worn it every single day since then, either on my nails or on my toenails.
It definitely is not a very 'me' colour, I tend to go for more nude or grey colours when it comes to the nails and then brighter red colours on my toenails but for some reason, I absolutely love this!

The colour is Beach Bum Blu, I didn't get it from Boots or Superdrug but it is part of the diffusion line so you can get it from there.
This colour is so opaque that you can only need one coat but I went for two just because I tend to do a bit of a sloppy job. (Isn't the word 'sloppy' so revolting?)

The Essie website describes this shade as: 'a medium sea side blue pearl', which is completely accurate so I will leave the description of the shade at that.
I know that this kind of looks tacky but I weirdly find there to be something appealing about this colour. I think it looks really nice with a plain black/grey outfit, it adds a lot of life to that kind of look.

I absolutely love the formula of Essie polishes, I don't experience much chipping and I just think they are of a really great quality.

Top 5 Bronzers/Contour Colours

1. Bourjois Delice de Soleil. 2. The Body Shop Baked Bronzer in 02. 3. Agnes B duo. 4. Cargo in Coral Beach. 5. NYX Blush in Taupe.

I do occasionally enjoy a bit of bronzer here and there, but I tend to be more of a blush girl so I only really use bronzers for a bit of cotouring (usually, anyway).
I have tried a lot of other bronzers in my time (including of course Benefit's Hoola which used to be a firm favourite and NARS Laguna which everyone seems to love).
Because I don't tend to LOVE bronzer anymore, I am not sure if I would spend over say £25 on one but never say never, right?

Without further ado these are my top 5/most used bronzers of the moment.
(If you can't be bothered with the rest of the post, the swatches are all above as I am sure you have already noticed!)

Bourjois Delice de Soleil Bronzing Powder

  • A warm toned, slightly orangey bronzer.
  • Matt, with a bit of glitter in the pan but it does not translate onto the skin.
  • Has the signature Bourjois cake mixture smell.

The Body Shop Baked Bronzer in 02 (Warm Glow)

  • A shimmery, bronze/highlight/blush (all in one) colour.
  • Perfect for paler girls, or as a highlight for girls with darker skin.
  • Creates a lovely radiant effect on the skin.

Agnes B. 'b. Sunny!' Powder Duo - Tan & Radiance

  • A baby pink blush & slightly shimmery bronzer.
  • When combined creates a beautiful natural looking tan colour.
  • The pink helps cancel out any orangey tones in the bronzer colour.

Cargo Blush in Coral Beach

  • Although described as a blush, this contains highlight/blush/bronzer colours.
  • Has a really refined shimmer throughout.
  • Really great multipurpose product.

NYX Blush in Taupe

  • Unlike the other bronzers, this is a cool toned taupe colour which is great for a natural contour colour.
  • Silky smooth texture.
  • Matte/velvety.

Thanks for reading! What are your favourite bronzers?
