FOTD 14/08/13

Since watching Chelsea's last video I have become obsessed with a one colour shimmery eye. Unfortunately I don't have the Urban Decay Naked or Naked 2 palette but I have a similar kind of thing from MUA (the Undress Me Too one). This was a really simple, quick makeup look to achieve so I'll just run you through what I used...

Under my foundation I used the KIKO City Filter Primer SPF 50 because I like a high sun protection on my face and a smooth base to start off with. This stuff is lovely because it isn't thick and it only takes a minute or so to sink in. I'm really, really enjoying that so I may do a post on it in the near future. The foundation I used was the Revlon Nearly Naked in the shade 'Shell' because I have a bit more colour than usual. I quite like this foundation but it's not my favourite by any means. That might be because whenever I've used it in the colder months it has been too dark for me so I don't wear it all too often. I think I just prefer Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum when it comes to drugstore foundations but I don't know. I just never fell in love with Nearly Naked. The concealer I used under my eyes was obviously Dior Hydra Life BB Eye Cream because it's just the best. I then used the MUA palette and the shade I used is the one on the top row, four along (bear in mind the palette is upside down in this picture!). The fallout is terrible but I love this kind of bronzey shade and it blends pretty nicely too. I put that all over my top lids and took it to just below my brow bone and then I used it all around my eye (even in the inner corner). I then took the palest, matte shade and used it on my brow bone to blend everything and used an angle brush to place a little bit of black shadow along the outer lash line. The mascara I used was my Armani Eyes To Kill because it's dried up a bit now which is when I like it best. I used Omega by MAC in my eyebrows and the Tweezerman Brow Mousse to hold my brows in place. The last step was a healthy dose of ELF Candid Coral on my cheeks (I did a post on it here if you want to check that out). I didn't choose to put anything on my lips except for a bit of lip balm throughout the day.

And that's it! Below is the bronzey shade from the palette that I used on my eyes. Hope you're all having a good day!

  6. I LOVE the finish of Nearly Naked but by the end of the day I'm a greasy mess when I wear it. I'm jealous that you can get Kiko stuff!

    1. Don't be too jealous. My sisters have been buying there stuff for years but to be honest most of it just looks like a glittery mess! I think 85% of their stuff looks really tacky and cheap...but there's always the odd gem among each brand!
