Current Makeup, Skincare & Hair Favourites # 2

You have or may not have noticed that I gave up on monthly favourites a while back because sometimes I don't have any specific favourites for a specific period of time. I think just doing them periodically whenever I want to allows for a little more honesty so I can really talk about what I have been loving over the past whatever amount of time rather than feeling under pressure to write about my favourites every single month. You may have seen me write about a few of these products before but I think that really shows how great they are and some of these are newbies.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow (Pink Gold)
I'm pretty sure that is the ACTUAL official name of these cream eyeshadows but no one really knows. This eyeshadow is pink which might scare a lot of people but I think pink eyeshadow looks gorgeous on blue eyes and on dark brown eyes too. It really makes them stand out. I love the formula of the Maybelline Color Tattoos because they last really well on me and they don't crease. I either wear them on their own or as a base. I actually really like to wear this all over the lid with Burberry Gold Trench eyeshadow in the crease. I like the combination of pink with browns, especially because although this eyeshadow is called Pink Gold, I actually think it's more silvery so it looks nice with something a bit warmer.

Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara (01 Extreme Black)
I'm a bit naughty because I like to have several mascaras open at a time but at the moment I have predominantly been using this Clinique mascara because it doesn't smudge in the heat. I think the formula is also the same as the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (which I love) so it's good for the bottom lashes too. This has a plastic wand which is really great for separating the lashes whilst also giving a lot of volume

L’OrĂ©al Professionnel Serie Expert Silver Shampoo
My hair is dyed blonde and it can look a little too gold/yellow for my complexion so I like to use purple shampoos to make it look more ashy and silvery. I find some do absolutely nothing but this is a proper toner so it works really well to get rid of any brassy tones. If you're looking for a purple shampoo, I definitely recommend this one.

Soap & Glory Solar Powder
I got this the other day because the packaging of my Bourjois bronzer broke and I thought I would try something new. This one is really different to the Bourjois one I was using because it's really soft and subtle. It has two different shades but I just mix them both together and dust it over my cheekbones, accross my nose and on my forehead for a really natural bronze glow. This is excellent for pale skins but if you're much darker than I am, I would say this is a no-go because it just won't show up on your skin at all.

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
I raved about this two posts ago so I don't want to ramble on about this again but if you are looking for a yellow toned, goldy champagne highlighter then this is the one. It is absolutely gorgeous. If you want a more in-depth review, then click here for my original post about it.

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
I can't talk about Vinosource by Caudalie highly enough. This stuff is really cool because when you squeeze some of it out of the package, it literally looks like whipped cream that you might put on your ice cream sundae. But please don't do that. I usually pair this with the Caudalie Vinosource SOS Serum (I wear it underneath the Sorbet) and it's really hydrating stuff but it sinks in really quickly. This is great for dehydrated sensitive skin so if that's what you've got I would definitely check it out.

Dior Hydra Life BB Eye Cream
Right now this is my Holy Grail under eye concealer. It doesn't settle into any wrinkly crinkly bits, it doesn't cake and it just looks totally natural and eye brightening. Just get this. Yes, it is Dior so it's not cheap but it is totally worth it.

  2. I've been keen to pick up the S&G bronzer for a while now, being very pale it can be find to hard bronzers which don't make me look orange/muddy. I'm also super super keen to try the Dior bb eye cream, I've read nothing but great things about it! My biggest worry with concealers settling into the lines under my eyes and usually only really thick concealers don't do that, but i much prefer the feel of a creamier consistency. I think sometime in the future I'll have to pick this up (I already have the normal BB cream so why not eh!) xx

    1. I find this bronzer to be really subtle so it can't look too orange or muddy anyway because it would take so long to build it up enough for that. The Dior BB eye cream sounds ridiculous but it really is amazing!

  4. I love your approach to beauty favourites, I too find it hard to come up with favourites on a monthly basis and if it's not fun, it's no worth doing! I really enjoyed reading this post. I did not get along with that Clinique mascara at all, it just didn't hold the curl on lashes. :( I do love the L'Oreal Professional range though, they're the best stuff for the money! Just started following your lovely blog, good luck with it! P.S.: You are sooo pretty! :) xx

    1. Oh really! I have quite curly, long lashes but volume is the problem for me so it works well for mine :) L'Oréal Professionnel is excellent, I'm never disappointed.

      And thank you!!
