By 'popularly priced', I basically mean drugstore. Don't gasp but I am not including the Bourjois Bronzing Primer that everyone is obsessed with (I do have it, but I use it on top of my foundation, not underneath so it doesn't really count does it?). I have three primers that I rotate throughout the week and I love all three!
The first primer I love is the KIKO City Filter Primer (on offer at £9.65 instead of £12.90) -click here for a post I did on it. It's got SPF 50 and it's the kind of primer that you don't notice on your skin at all. It kind of sinks in like a moisturizer and it just leaves your skin feeling a little smoother but it isn't tacky by any means. But as I said, I did do a post about it a little while back so definitely check that out if you want to know more about it. Next up is the L'Oréal Revitalift Miracle Blur (currently $19.99 instead of $24.99 at Walgreens) and I have the oil-free version despite the fact that I have dry skin. I don't find that it dries my skin out or anything like that, it just leaves my skin with a silky smooth base. I would think about also getting the normal version to see how that compares and see if it is better for my skin type. It really does blur any imperfections and creates a soft focus effect. It isn't marketed as a primer particularly although you are supposed to put it on after moisturiser but before foundation, which would indicate that it is basically a primer. I favour this primer on days when my skin is acting up a bit. I can't find it on any UK sites so I'm not sure it is available there or if it ever will be. Last but not least is the L'Oréal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer ($12.99/£9.99), which is my favourite out of the three. I love the fact that it smooths out my skin and gives it a really nice glow in one. As someone with dry skin, this is perfect for my skin type because I like a radiant base. Elissa from Styleaffix mentioned this primer in her 'Forgoing Foundation' post a while back and it was on my list for ages before I acquired it.
Let me know if you have a favourite primer!

The KIKO primer sounds interesting. I know primers are really popular at the moment and there are lots to choose from but I find it difficult to find one that is just perfect and that doesn't make your foundation peel off - bizarrely enough... Xx

It's lovely :) otherwise you might be able to order it online?
DeleteLoreal magic lumi light is really good. Better for glow than as a primer in my opinion. I even use it as a final step highlight.
ReplyDeleteI don't have oily skin so my foundation doesn't move anyway, I just want a smoother base and a glow :) I've never used it on top of foundation, I'll try it out!
DeleteI love the L'Oreal primer and that KIKO one is definitely one I want to ty.

It's really nice :)
DeleteI have the L'Oreal Magic Lumi primer and I'm surprised at how much I like it xx
ReplyDeleteHaha really? I was expecting to like it because I had heard great things :)
DeleteI've tried the L'Oreal primer, and I really didn't like it either - it just did nothing apart from cost too much money ahaha! xx

Haha what? I said I liked it! :)
DeleteI've used the normal Miracle blue on my dry skin and I really like it. I don't use it every single day but like you said, great for days where you want some extra skin help. I'll have to give the L'oreal primer a go next!

Miracle Blur is also by L'Oréal :) the Magic Lumi one is my favourite though.
DeleteI've heard that the miracle blur is awesome, I would definitely want to try it but my skin is so sensitive with facial products!
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame!
DeleteLumi Magic is the best but mine started to go weird and watery when I pumped it out! It's miraculously recovered now so dunno what all that was about.
