Review: Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

This liner is being buzzed about on a lot of beauty blogs at the moment and I thought because I managed to get my hands on it I would share my two cents. First of all this liner is supposed to make applying gel liner a breeze, it is supposed to last longer and it is supposed to make the whole process quick and foolproof.

Does it live up to the hype? Well, I'm going to be annoying and say 'yes but also no' because I think if it didn't have so many claims I think it would be a lot more impressive. My problem with this liner is the idea that it is supposed to be really quick and easy to apply which I kind of disagree with. I apply liner with the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner as quickly as I would with any other but I can't say that applying gel liner is something I find overly difficult. I started wearing liquid liner around ten years ago so I do think I have the hang of it (if I do say so myself). The only thing that this might help with in terms of ease of application is with the flick because the gel comes out of an angled rubber applicator. I just think it could be a bit messy if you didn't twist out the right amount of product and you still have to be precise with this. What I'm trying to say is that if you suck at applying liner, I'm not sure if you'd have an easier time with this one, especially as it's a bit of a novelty at this point.

However, this being said - I actually love this liner. Why? Because it is incredibly long lasting (it has lasted through tears and sweat) and it is also very black and opaque. The claims that it is easier to get to the root of the lashes is also true, perhaps because of the bizarre rubbery applicator. So despite the fact that I don't think this liner is that much easier to apply, I love the effect it gives so I wholeheartedly recommend this.

(I got managed to get early access through www.thelinetofine.com but the official release in the US is 6/27)

  1. I was going to buy this the other day but I held off thinking it would end up being more effort than it was worth when I'm always trying to do my eyeliner in a rush!

Got the Gimme Brow instead and LOVE it

  3. Such an interesting concept for an eyeliner, but from the sounds of it I'll be sticking to the Rimmel one I have now. I couldn't stand wasting product and making a mess by pushing up too much x

  5. I think although this sounds brilliant, there's only so far a liner can go and I have a feeling this'll be waaaay to overpriced for a liner. Better wait and see though, if I can stomach the price it sounds good!x
