Skincare Favourites

I rarely talk about skincare and I don't know why because just like all beauty bloggers (and rational people in general), I know that makeup and skincare go hand in hand. If you don't have a smooth, moisturised base to apply your makeup onto, it's not going to sit well on your skin. As I have said in previous posts my skin was playing up (I basically had full on acne again) but now it is looking a lot better so I feel okay with sharing some of my favourites with you.

First of all I am a big fan of Bioderma, I am currently using the one for dry skin (Bioderma Hydrabio) which is really nice. I find it dries my eyes out less which is great for someone with really dry eyes like me. I am currently trying out the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo cream which is working wonders but I have only had it for a short amount of time so I'm not really ready to comment on that. However, I have been using the La Roche Posay Substiane Eye Cream for quite some time now and I just think it is the perfect everyday eye cream. It's not too thick but it moisturises just enough for my dry under eyes so that my concealer applies nicely. For days when my skin isn't looking so fresh (aka it's covered in blemishes), I swear by the Origins Super Spot Remover. This tiny little blue bottle is potent shit. It will dry the hell out of any little buggers you have on your skin and reduce the redness overnight. Mine is running out so I must get a new one A$AP in case my skin decides to turn into volcano central again. Primers are kind of new to me, I've never really invested in a good quality one before so I have never been impressed but I like the Pore Refine Recover by Dr Jart. I find that this is quite light and it just smoothes my skin nicely and makes it feel like satin. I don't have a setting spray that I use but I do use the famous Caudalie Beauty Elixir over my makeup once I have finished applying it. I tried to stop using this for a while because I've head it is full of alcohol but honestly I felt like my skin missed it and I really missed the fresh smell which is amazing when you feel a bit sick. I just find this refreshes my makeup and gets rid of any powdery effect. The Taaj Micellar Solution is also new to me (my mom has a full size bottle waiting for me at home which I am excited about). I like to use this when I am wearing a lot of eye makeup because it is a little bit stronger than Bioderma, and it smells really, really good too. The last product I have to mention is the Caudalie Vinosource SOS Serum which I initially heard of through Estée. It has a really milky consistency and goes on nicely underneath my moisturiser before I apply my primer. I find that this just adds an extra boost of needed moisture to my skin.

These aren't all the skincare products I use by any means but just a few of my favourites at the moment :)
