If you've been reading my blog for a while you will know that I have pretty dehydrated skin and at certain times of the year it gets super dry. These are some of the foundations I have tried that I think work well for my kind of skin, but obviously I haven't tried every foundation out there so this is only from what I know.
Revlon Colourstay (for normal/dry skin)
If you want a medium/buildable foundation for those days when your skin isn't looking its best but you don't want something that is going to cling to dry patches. I like Revlon foundations because they're fairly yellow which is what I like and the shade 'Buff' in this one works fairly well on my pale-ass skin. You can also get the Colourstay foundation for oily skin as well.
Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
I got the shade 'Shell' in this one which is a bit too dark for me so it's going to be more of a Summer shade but the formula is really light so it's great for all skin types. I find that foundations with a lighter texture tend to work best on dry skin because they don't cling and they don't emphasize any dryness.
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat
I absolutely love this foundation, it is probably my favourite of all. You can get this one in a load of different shades so that's always great. I'm running low on mine so I save it more for special events and that kind of thing. It's a really luminous foundation with fairly good coverage and it has an almost gel-like texture so it's great for dry/dull skin.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
This foundation is really similar to the YSL one (above) but with less glamorous packaging and a cheaper price tag. I love this foundation for everyday because it just glides over the skin and sits really nicely on it all day.
Dr Jart Rejuvenating BB Cream
This BB cream is fairly new to me, I've always heard loads about it and it doesn't disappoint. There is only shade which is a bit strange but it works well for me. It's neither yellow nor pink, it actually looks kind of grey when you first squeeze it out of the tube but it looks really natural when it's on your face. I like this BB cream more than other ones because the texture is really light but for a BB cream I think the coverage is actually not bad at all.
thank you so much for this post! it seems like most of the people here have oily skin. Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation is actually pretty good for dry skin as well! :)
ReplyDeleteHey I just came across your blog and it's great, you have a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteThe Dr Jart BB cream is one of my favourite lighter bases, I love mixing it with other foundations too to thin them down a bit! Unfortunately I can't comment from a dry skin perspective though as I have normal skin with oily t zone :( Look forward to reading more of your posts!

It's pretty nice :)
DeleteJust found your blog and I love it! Now following :) I haven't tried the newest Bourjois Healthy Mix but I might give it a go if it's similar to the YSL one! Better to give the cheaper option a try first. Great post :) xx

thanks!
DeleteI'm absolutely in love with Bourjois' Healthy Mix Serum but find that its coverage isn't enough for my skin, which is very much prone to imperfections. I've heard wonder about Revlon's Nearly Naked though and am going to have to try it out now.
ReplyDeleteA great way to find the perfect foundation for you : PS Beauty. Try it out girls, you'll rapidly fall in love just like I did haha.
