Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure

For once I chose the most boring looking blush from the bunch, even though there are some really pretty vibrant shades among the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. I got the shade 'Mood Exposure' because I wanted a blush that I could wear with dramatic eye makeup and just something that adds a nice subtle glow rather than a bright pop of color...

This shade is described as 'soft plum' on the Sephora website but I can't say I totally agree. I'm not going to explain why because you can see in the images what it looks like... doesn't look plummy to me? What I like about this blush aside from the shade is the fact that it gives a really pretty glow to the cheeks, just like the Ambient Lighting Powders.

These blushes are marbled and so they combine one of the Ambient Lighting Powder shades with a blush color. I have the powder in the shade Dim Light and so this isn't the matching blush shade but I don't think that matters. I have heard some people complain about the fact that each blush looks different and the ratio of the blush shade to the powder shade isn't always on point. I'm happy with the one I got and I kind of want to try some other shades because I love the concept and how it looks actually on my face too.

  2. I love the look of these and this is a lovely colour. I'm with you though, not plummy at all is it? More peachy maybe? x

  4. With their packaging, I'm not totally sure you chose a boring shade but it definitely looks like a perfect blush for that subtle glow!

  5. The texture looks beautiful, so silky, so pretty but I would like it to be more pigmented, all the shades in general aren't very pigmented but light and glowy which is a good thing but I prefer more pigmentation!

  8. Yeah, I wouldn't say that's a plum, but it's still gorgeous!! I really want to see these in person before I splurge on them, but I'm really excited out these blushers!

  9. I don't know why but I'm just not excited about these. I went to buy the powder the other day and just couldn't go through with it, £38 would have made me weep!

  12. This looks, well rather disappointing so glad I read this review as I genuinely thought this would be much more plumey this kinda just looks like a highlighter, for the price I'd expect a tiny bit more pigmentation....still not sure how I feel about Hourglass x
