FOTD 3/19: white lids/black liner & pink lips

In my most recent beauty post I mentioned the NARS 'Final Cut' collection and I was asked to do a post featuring the Lip Pencil on my actual lips - which I guess would be more useful than just showing a swatch on my anaemic looking pale skin. I usually wear darker eyeshadows because I like how it creates the illusion of deep set eyes, which is something I don't have but in this post I'm doing the opposite and wearing white eyeshadow (obviously with a little sumtin sumtin in the crease to create a bit of depth nonetheless).

This is actually a really quick and easy look despite the fact that it looks like it requires a bit of effort. For my eyes, I first applied my Urban Decay Primer Potion (which not only helps with creasing issues but also color vibrancy) and then applied Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in 'White' all over the lid. The reason why I actually like this white eye shadow is because it's not too blue/cool toned compared to some and it isn't chalky, which I think is particularly important for white eye shadow because otherwise it will look cheap and, well...chalky. I then used my L'Oréal Paris Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in 'Blackest Black' and lined my upper lashes with a bit of a flick. I don't hear people talk about this liner that often but I love it because it doesn't dry out as quickly as other gel liners, doesn't transfer, doesn't smudge, and it's really black and opaque. When I left work yesterday it was pouring down with rain (obviously forgot my brolly) and my makeup did not budge despite my face being soaking wet. I used MAC Omega in the crease and on my lower lashine because when I done define my lower lashes or crease I look like a bit of an egghead. And then I curled my lashes using the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler (why would you use anything else?) and applied mascara to my top and bottom lashes. On my lips I applied the NARS Satin Lip Pencil from the 'Final Cut' collection in 'Villa Lante' - which is only available from Nordstrom in the US so if you want it you have to order it online before it sells out! I don't feel the need to line my lips when I use NARS Lip Pencil because they are already pretty pigmented and they don't fade/smudge.

  3. Absolutely lovely and oh so simple! I've seen that shadow being featured by some other ladies, they love how it's sheer and so brightening without actually looking so white. I think I need a shade like that!
