Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm & Matte Balm

I have fallen for the latest lip offerings from Revlon and I thought I would share them with you. I have one shade from the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm and one from the ColorBurst Matte Balm. I love crayon lip products because you can be more precise with them and I love the original Revlon Kissable Balm Stains so as soon as I heard about these I was on the hunt for them.

The ColorBurst Lacquer Balm (right in the swatch photo) is in the shade Demure and it's just the perfect everyday lip color because it's a wearable peachy nude. I like the fact that it is quite glossy and moisturising, but this does mean it doesn't last on the lips for too long. However, it's a great one to just chuck in your bag and whack on whenever (chuck/whack -- I could choose more eloquent vocabulary but you know, keeping it real her on Raspberphobia).

The ColorBurst Matte Balm (left in the swatch photo) is in a shade called Showy and it's a really bright, bold, blue toned pink. I think pink lipstick suits me best and I think it looks great paired with simple black eyeliner on the eyes. I find that this formula lasts really well and I would love to get some other shades. In fact I'd love to get several shades of both formulas!

I love precise you can be with crayon lip products and the fact that you don't really need lip liner. It's also useful that the Lacquer Balms come in shiny packaging whereas the Matte Balms come in matte packaging - good thinking there. I definitely recommend both of these new lines if you can get your hands on them!

  12. These look amazing! I'm not such a fan of matte formulas because my lips are always chapped but the lacquer range is one I'll have to keep my eyes open for!
