My MAC Eyeshadows

Left pallete, left to right: Cork; Omega -- Right pallete, clockwise: Cranberry, Woodwinked, Ricepaper, All That Glitters
Left to right: Cork, Omega, Cranberry, Woodwinked, Ricepaper, All That Glitters
Quick disclaimer! I am really not a massive MAC girl -- I have never been one to obsess over their limited edition collections or collect all their lipsticks. However, I do think they are a really good makeup brand in terms of quality//pricing//color range etc. I just though I'd point out that I am not that person who has to have everything that MAC ever comes out with. I've never even tried their foundations or powders! I just thought I would give you a quick run through of the six MAC eyeshadows that I do have...

The italicized bits are how MAC describe each eyeshadow.

Cork
Muted golden brown; Satin -- I would describe this as Cadbury chocolate color: it's a very standard mid-brown eyeshadow and slightly on the warmer side. I believe this was my first ever MAC eyeshadow and I got it just over a year ago. This is a really useful eyeshadow to use as a crease color or along the bottom eyelashes for a bit of definition. (Mine broke a bit when I depotted it...mad skills).

Omega
Soft muted beige-taupe; Matte -- I used this as my eyebrow powder for the longest time until I switched over to the Anastasia Brow Wiz. However, I do think this is a perfect cool toned eyebrow shade for blondes and I need to start using it again! I might try it with the Anastasia Brow Wiz next time I put my makeup on...

Cranberry
Red-plum with pink shimmer; Frost -- I would have thought Cranberry, Woodwinked, Ricepaper and All That Glitters were all the same finish but looks like I was wrong! I was obsessed with this eyeshadow Christmas time circa 2012. It's a really beautiful cranberry (obviously) shade but I understand this might be a scary shade for some people. I think it's an eyeshadow you have to wear with eyeliner or it can make you look like you have a little case of pink eye.

Woodwinked
Warm antique gold; Veluxe Pearl -- I agree with the description of this eyeshadow, however I find that on my skin tone it looks fairly neutral toned on the lid and warmer in the crease. I like this because it means you can wear it as a lid and crease color all at once and it looks slightly different in both areas. This is one of my favorite eyeshadows because my favorite eyeshadow colors are bronzey//warm and shimmery.

Ricepaper
Peachy gold with shimmer; Frost -- I quite like this but I actually think it's more of a yellowy champagne shade rather than peachy gold. It is nice but I don't think it's perfect for my skin tone or that it's pigmented enough. But it is quite pretty, I probably just wouldn't repurchase it when it runs out.

All That Glitters
Beige w/ gold pearl; Veluxe Pearl -- I would honestly lean towards calling this a rose gold hued eyeshadow because it is a pretty pinky golden color. I only got this a couple of weeks ago when I was in Toronto but I really like it so far. I think it's really pretty with blue eyes. I believe my friend Maria recommended this to me? (In case she's reading heh) -- Also the swatch really doesn't do it any justice, I think it's a lot more pink than it looks there... #BadLighting

I still have two slots left in one of my quads -- anyone got any recommendations? (Please don't say Satin Taupe!)

  3. I've wanted All That Glitters for SO long, but I just can't face paying £12.50 for one measly eyeshadow. I've swatched Club so many times and it's beaut, like a browny/greeny almost duochrome shade

  10. Woodwinked is such a gorgeous shade. I personally highly recommend Soba and Patina. Patina is my all time favourite eyeshadow. It's just so simple yet beautiful. Soba is great in the crease with Ricepaper all over the lids. Let me know if you try them out!

  16. I love Cranberry! It's definitely #1 on my MAC wish list at the moment, but I'm holding off on buying it right this second because I have some colors that are vaguely sort of similar that I'd like to use up first.
