Review: theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter

I feel like everyone has already written/spoken about this highlighter in previous months but as per usual, I'm late on the bandwagon. I first heard about this through Chelsea (obviously from Chelsea Wears... what other Chelsea is there?) a while back and I've slowly heard pretty much everyone on the beauty blogosphere talking about this. Some think it's too much, others are obsessed. I am obsessed. I'm not into a 'subtle highlight' or a 'natural glow' - I want disco ball cheekbones. And I am so sorry if that is totally tacky and Kardashian of me, but it is totally true. I love a bit of shimmer on my face and I like it to be of a champagne/golden hue, which is why this is the only highlighter I have eyes for at the moment. (Like, what even IS MAC Soft & Gentle, you know?).

So what is so special about this higlighter? First of all, the pigmentation on this bad boy is unbelievable. I guess that is why it's not the most 'natural' or 'subtle' highlighter ever. Secondly, it is so finely milled and soft so it blends really easily and doesn't look cakey.
Third of all, the actual colour is really beautiful. It's basically a pure gold/champagne colour which I think looks amazing on pale skin. I do think this would be way too light and bright for much darker skin tones but if you're a few shades darker than me (aka you are no albino) I think this would still look beautiful.

The packaging is pretty - it's handy too because it comes with a decent sized mirror and it's not too bulky either. The only thing is I think if you dropped this, it would smash into oblivion because it's so soft so watch out!

You can pick this up from Feel Unique for £15

And that awkward poser picture above shows where I tend to wear my highlighter! *Ahem*
What's your favourite highlighter and have you tried this one?

    1. I have Mac Soft & Gentle too, which is lovely but this one is way softer and fine. And a lot less glittery and more shimmery?
