Not one to go for matte bases, I either like to go for a dewy foundation or a satin, luminous foundation depending on the condition of my skin on the day. Some of my favourite dewy foundations include Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Treatment Foundation, YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat and L'Oreal True Match Lumi. These foundations are perfect when my skin is more on the dry side, but when my skin is producing a little more oil I tend to go for what I am going to refer to as 'silky foundations'...
These silky foundations tend to be the kind that you have to shake up before use otherwise you will just be getting some kind of oil or water coming out of the packaging which is not what you want. I find that these foundations tend to look darker in the packaging so don't be fooled - test before you buy.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (shade B10) - $45
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (shade B10) - $45
This really was my foundation of the summer, which was when I originally bought it. I apply this foundation differently to how I do the following two. Usually I would use some sort of buffing brush but with this one I like to pat it into my skin in the centre parts of my face where I need a bit of coverage. This was the first silk textured foundation I ever used and it was really this foundation that made me move toward different textures and away from the dewier ones. It's a pretty low coverage foundation so it's a really good one for when your skin is looking clear and you want a really natural finish.
Armani Luminous Silk (shade 2) - $60
This is a very new one for me because I have only really just purchased it. But from my few uses of the Armani Luminous Silk foundation all I can say is that I get the hype. My only problem with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is the shade range because B10 does work for me but I have to make it work me. This one is the perfect shade and it just leaves the most beautiful lit from-within glow without looking too shiny or sparkly, it's just beautiful. I need to try it out more to see if it's going to stay a long time winner but for now I am officially obsessed.

L'Oreal Magic Nude (shade Light Ivory) - $12.95
I have to say that L'Oreal have really upped their game with this foundation. I think it might be slightly too drying for drier skins but I love this when my skin is slightly more on the oilier side of things. I think the packaging looks a lot prettier and higher end than most foundations in the drugstore so it's really nice foundation to have sat on your vanity desk. Magic Nude blends in like a dream and it leaves the most natural, satin finish on the skin which isn't dewy but luminous. It creates a really soft focus effect on the skin which is great for blurring imperfections without leaving a mask-like effect on the skin. I also find that the coverage is pretty good and it builds up nicely without caking. This gets a massive thumbs up from me, especially because I haven't found anything similar in the drugstore.
Love the magic nude!

With A City Dream
Such a good foundation, especially for a drugstore product
