A Dupe For Nars Luster?

One of my first ever posts was about the Nars blush in the shade Luster (that post has since been deleted because 1) all the photos on my blog got deleted and I couldn't be bothered to save every single post and 2) it was a bit cringe and all over the place). Nars Luster ($29) remains in my top 5 blushes and I am still always attracted to apricot blushes with a gold shimmer. I have come across a few pretty close dupes in my day (what, am I old or something?) but this is the newest and closest dupe I have. I'm talking about L'Oréal True Match Blush ($11.49) in W1-2.

I tend to stay away from really pink blushes because I feel like I want a blusher to warm up my complexion more than anything and add a little life to it. I also love a bit of shimmer on my cheeks - shimmer, not full on glitter - especially if it's more of a golden sheen. I don't know if it's because I have dry skin that I like an iridescent finish on my cheeks and skin overall, but I don't see that changing anytime soon.  Nars Luster ($29) has long been my ultimate, bestest blush because although I'm happy being pale, it makes me a really nice bronzey glow on my cheeks. L'Oréal True Match Blush ($11.49)in W1-2 does exactly the same thing, but obviously at a fraction of the price and admittedly less fancy packaging. So I recommend if Nars products aren't within your makeup budget going for the L'Oréal one. Or if you're like me and you gotta catch 'em all - get both! There is a slight difference between the two but when they're on your face there is virtually no visible difference. The L'Oréal one slightly more gold whereas Luster is a little bit more orangey. But as I said, it gives you the same glowy apricot glow.

A complete dupe? No. But similar enough to create the same glowy effect.

Sign up at Nasty Gal for a chance to get your hands on a vintage Chanel bag. Ooh la la is right!

  1. I can't say I ever thought of using an apricot blush before to be honest. I love hearing about dupes though I find it's always interesting to see which brands are similar to others. I dunno it's probably just the beauty blogger coming out in me, haha. Lovely post :)
